To the parents at the bus stop...
... who think it's funny to see my special needs child have a meltdown: it hurts my heart so much to see adults who not only have no empathy for their fellow man, but see an upset child as a source of entertainment.
I heard the things you said about my child. I've heard the things you say about the kids in general. You're raising your kids to be the same way as evidenced by what they say as well. You're parents, I'm sure your children have had their struggles. I know there's been a time or two you were in my shoes yesterday morning, as I struggled to get her on the bus, which scares her when she doesn't have her sister, who was home sick. I know you saw the tears in my eyes. But your first instinct was to laugh.
It's bad enough when you have people who gossip about others, judging people who have struggles they know nothing about, but YOU, you lot do it about children!! What kind of horrible person even thinks that way, let alone vocalizes it?
The worst part is it isn't just one person. Seeing your little group of parents acting this way makes me fear for the future, for my kids future. It makes my heart ache.
I see a beautiful, intelligent, wonderful little girl who has more empathy in her little finger than you do between all of you.
You see nothing but another source of gossip, more entertainment to laugh about. Who cares who you're hurting, right?
