Why is the site all of a sudden limiting?

They have to pay for the storage of every single message. Yes, to today's standards, text uses negligible storage, but it does add up if you have a large user base. I'm just glad they're not taking the facebook approach where you get unlimited messages because selling your data makes them money.

This site is primarily an open message board, not a private chat room.
