I’m really upset with this girl named zaiya

There’s this girl at my school named Zaiya who’s dating my friend John. One day she started a rumor that I like John and started telling the whole school. She asked a mutual friend for my number and her told my friend she could give it to zaiya. Zaiya and I got in an argument cause she was jealous or smth even tho John and I are just friends. I was a little annoyed but didn’t rly care that much. Then she started a rumor about her ex boyfriend and one of my friends named Alexus. She said they had sex even tho we’re just in 8th grade. I texted John and told him to tell Zaiya she needs to stop spreading rumors about everyone and that she can say whatever she wants about me but she can’t say stuff about my friends. Zaiya texted me and started trying to explain herself. She told me one story but told our mutual friend a totally different one, so I knew she was lying. She won’t admit she did anything wrong and is somehow trying to make it seem like my fault. All I’m doing is sticking up for my friend. I tried to get her to tell me the real story but she wouldn’t budge. She’s just being a total jerk about everything. My theory is that she’s jealous her ex boyfriend and my friend Alexus kissed now that they’re in a relationship. You may be thinking that can’t be possible cause she’s with John but I wouldn’t put it past her. She talks all the time about how she’ll get back with one of her exs when she and John break up. She’s so toxic and I wish John never started dating her. I want him to be happy but he deserves someone so much better.
