from what they told me about when a friend of mine had similar issues, there's not much in the way of pain receptors to the brain so it tends to not be a super painful process in the case of glioblastoma, the sufferer doesn't experience much pain. once the fever sets in, it's usually a very short process. not sure if that's helpful info or not, I found it mildly comforting at the dwarf's end.
