I Need to Vent

My dad sent me a letter from prison. It's basically just an apology for all the horrible stuff he did to me and my mum.

I have mixed feelings about the letter. But what they are, I can't tell. There sadness, anger and everything inbetween swirling around in my head.

I've been pacing back and forth in my room for a little over an hour thinking about it. I can't forgive him, nor can I forget.

My head is just a mess. This good flow I've had going is just gone now

Just a piece of advice but you need to forgive him, if only in your heart for your own peace of mind!

@Snuffy1957 I know, I need to forgive him but something keeps telling me I shouldn't

@Aigis well don't listen to whatever that is because you need to forgive him for yourself not for him

@Snuffy1957 you're right, 100%. I'm working on it

Forgiveness comes easier for some than it does for others. That is human nature and perfectly normal. The fact that you are trying to forgive him is really good. If you decide to respond just write a short note. You could simply tell him I’m trying to forgive you but I do not wish to engage you. I wish you peace and happiness in your life. @Aigis
