I Need to Vent

I hate this generation--specifically those born post 90s. I am over you entitled f-cks being fearless, disrespectful and outright stupid. I don't understand how you all were not taught respect and have not the slightest idea of what discipline is.

Parents, STOP being your child's friend and start being a PARENT. Respect starts at home.

It hurts seeing these nasty videos of children disrespecting parents, authority, peers, animals and themselves. If you don't want to take life seriously and CHOOSE to be naive that the people you mock and disregard because of a disability or impairment could one day be you or your child, then you are in for a shock when reality knocks you off your feet.

At this point it'll be easier to make a list as to why I am disappointed in this generation:

1. I don't understand why everything has to be documented with videos and pictures nowadays as if you need validation that the once in a lifetime moment needs to be glamorized by everyone else.
2. I don't understand how you can video someone being bullied and hurt and sit there and laugh instead of jumping in and stopping it.
3. Please explain how this simple, stupid mindset of recreational drugs being so cool and worthy, degrading and exploiting your peers, strangers & family suddenly became funny and excelling at the Quan is more important than excelling in your classes?
4. I use to be in the teaching field. I was so excited to teach youths and young adults until I had to observe more high school classes. Almost everyone in the 10th and 11th grade classes COMPLETELY disrespected their teacher in front of the guest. To make matters worse, they all failed their essay assignment because they couldn't analyze and respond to a simple story.
5. Respect should be GIVEN regardless. You are NOT entitled to it.
6. Understand that you have several strikes against you once you're born especially if you're in any minority. Do NOT feed into the stereotypes; we're better than that.
7. When did an education become valueless, but likes on Instagram became precious?
8. Your work ethic is very poor and pathetic. Again, you are NOT entitled to anything. Therefore, I will not be awarding you for your careless attitude and mentality.
9. Twerking and tweeting aren't real job skills, what else can you do?
10. You don't believe in God? Fine, but mocking someone who is a believer doesn't make you any better than the misinformed bible thumper. You don't want to hear what they have to say, then POLITELY decline rather than make an as$ out of yourself.
11. You want to blatantly disrespect authority and then cry when they fight back? That's fine, but make sure your mother is honest when she's at the podium lying to everyone about how much of a "great kid" you are/were.
12. STOP making yourself a victim of your circumstances when you're the VILLIAN of your ACTIONS.
13. This generation is too sensitive, to everything.
14. If for once you shut up and listened, you may learn something beneficial.
15. It's okay to put the phone down every now and then. Life goes on with or without it. Don't miss your opportunity to enjoy it.
16. What happened to values, morals and ethics?
17. People are different. In this day and age if you can't accept that then you will not make it far professionally or socially.
18. You all barely have any drive to work for anything in your life.
19. These flawed children take advantage of almost everything.
20. You are NOT entitled to anything.
21. Please invest in some form of contraception. We don't want to support your children either.
22. I don't want to fight for your life or an improved living situation for you if you're not going to hack into your potential. Count me out.

Basically, from what I've gathered, "they" believe in unity through technology, work isn't worth the recommended effort to live, respect is earned - not everybody deserves it, and authority should be questioned. Of course there are countering negatives, but just because of their untraditional lifestyles choices it doesn't mean it's all bad. Watch the millennials change the world.

Not everyone is like this! I'm sixteen and almost none of these apply to me! I really hate it when everyone talks about "this generation" as if every single one of us is a ditzy, brainless asshole. Not all of us are. I know a lot who aren't. We just don't catch anyone's attention because people are always actively looking for the idiots to criticize, and they don't notice the ones who they can't.

You were born in the 90s sooooo.....plus every generation goes through this period older generations just didn't have the technology that we have today.

Although the Millenials include 90s babies, it also includes POST 90s as well, which I emphasized in the first sentence if you took the time to actually read. That is who I'm referring to in this post. It's that same narrow minded attitude of "Oh, it's just a phase, everyone goes through it" that causes the pathetic, degenerative gap to keep prospering. It's just a phase is not the solution; Instilling morals, value, respect, ethics, responsibility and discipline in ourselves, children and students is a resolution or at least a great start.

Thank you for your comment though.

If we're so immoral then what kind of morals would you instill in us?
