I Do Not Need Pity, I Just Need To Vent

This story is true
Utah nurse
Have u seen the video of a nurse being arrested! All she did was tell the cops they couldn't get blood from a victim that was dead ( I think) . And the cop got mad and said we r done! Then he arrested her! All she was doing was her job ! She was realeased with all charges dropped! Poor girl I feel so bad for her she was so upset. He even handcuffed her! That cop just had too much power I think. He got fired.

I hope there's real outrage over this.
I saw the footage last night and the guy clearly overstepped his bounds. Since it's unclear why he wouldn't take notice of what professionals were telling him, he clearly abused his position and power.
If you don't tell folk when they're wrong, how do you ever hope they'll get better ?

@Picklebobble2 he thought she was being uncooperative when she simply could not do what he was asking by law. That city and the police chief claim that there will be a refresher course of when nurses can and can't draw blood for local authorities.

@SW-User Doesn't solve the problem of what happened though does it ?
Either that cop broke the law or he didn't !
It's as simple as that !

@Picklebobble2 I would think education of the matter would help everyone be on the same page in the future and keep something like this from happening again.

@SW-User but given all the anxiety about 'trigger-happy' police officers and all that has gone on in recent weeks, it's one thing for an officer to be uncertain of the law and asking somebody to accompany them for questioning. And to be ignorant of the law and arresting an innocent for doing nothing wrong !

@SW-User I read one report that said the officer had been suspended and is awaiting re-training........

@Picklebobble2 good. Hopefully he learns from his mistake.

@SW-User I don't think there was necessarily any malice in what he did. But again, he either knew exactly that arresting her was wrong, or he should have. There's no getting around that.

I think he should be fired .
