I Need to Vent

[c=#002673]I remember when my father was in the hospital for his cancer. I called him one day to talk to him, but someone else answered his phone. At first I couldn't recognize who it was so I hung up. A few minutes later I called again, the same person answered the phone. I was starting to get irked because I expected my father to answer. So I hung up again, on the third call I finally asked for him. I also recognized who it was that kept picking up the phone.

When the phone was handed to my father he cursed me out and said why didn't I just ask for him the first time. I told him I didn't know who it was. But the point is, here was this man who I was keeping in touch with more than ever because he was sick. And he curses me because he chose not to answer his phone. It was his room. He was staying there, so there's no reason for anyone else to be answering his phone except him.

That's how I saw it. And that's how I felt. So it hurt me when he got mad. Like are you kidding me? The bastard was lucky to have a child like me at all.[/c]
