Guess I'm upset..

My closest friend will be gone within a year, or less. His liver is failing, his wife told me his doctor said 8 months at best.

I'm getting used to losing people I love. People die every day, yet saying I'm used to it ... makes me think I'm getting colder and my heart is becoming like stone.

Guess the truth is, once he gone. I will miss the stupid conversations we have... the debates....

I don't think I'll be able to make a friend like him again. I mean, he moved next door to me twenty years ago and we just ...clicked. its hard making friends, it even harder to keep them...

I'm sorry. I've lost a lot of people too and I think it's better in a way when you know in advance and can make the most of your time. Doesn't make it easier though.

A friend is someone who you can not see for 20 years and when you get together again it is like the conversation never stopped. You just step right back in where you left off. I have several like that and am blessed by being their friend.
Is he qualified for the transplant list?

@NativePortlander1970 He tried, he needs to lose twenty stones to be considered. Wife said that his doctor said it be wasted on him, which i was thought is a horrible thing to say to his wife.
@RadioDust Your Friend needs to challenge it, go to the courts if he has to.
