I watched Vance telling a rally how they found 19 loaded handguns stashed around his grandmother's house. He said it occurred to them that because she was old and frail she always wanted to be in reaching distance of a loaded gun to protect herself and her family. The audience clapped and laughed with delight. Vance said this was the America they were fighting for and everyone applauded.
They're delighted at an anecdote that explains how a frail old woman was so fucking terrified that she stashed 19 loaded handguns all over her house. And they wonder why we think they're unhinged.

@Richard65 your nuts just because she had all those guns spent mean she was scared of anything. I own my guns and I ain't worried about anything because of need be o can and will handle it long before the cops show up and everyone should have that right .yes it's great that an old lady has what she had a right to have

@SW-User but the necessity to have 19 handguns ready and loaded is rooted in fear. The fear is alleviated by the comfort of having 19 handguns stashed around the house. Imagine how overwhelming the fear must have been to make her do that.

@Richard65 I see that differently. I don’t have guns at my house because I’m afraid. I’m honestly not. But in the same respect, people wore cotton face mask and took untested vaccines for the same reason as you’re saying she had guns.

@SW-User I agree, they did that through fear. But most Americans have guns for protection. That clearly means they are aware and anxious that they or their families might get attacked. That's fear, worry, unease that causes people to have guns (outright terror if you feel a need to stash 19 loaded handguns). It's still fear that necessitates you having a gun, even if you don't acknowledge that.

@Richard65 You call it fear, I call it protection. Do we have auto, home, and life insurance because we are afraid of something happening? No. We have it just in case something happens.

@Richard65 No. I’m not equating car insurance to a gun. HUGE difference. I was stating that it’s possible to own a gun not because of fear. I’m sure some people do own guns because they are afraid, and that’s fine. That’s part of living in America. Take the vaccine if you’re afraid. I don’t care. That’s your right. But for me personally, believe it or not, I shoot my guns for recreation (target practice) and hunting.
