Bf asked me what I want to do for my birthday

I really hadn't thought about it. He said "Can I take you to dinner, at least?" I guess I seemed hesitant because he got kind of upset then left. 😔

I guess he thinks I don't like going out? I do like it, I just feel stressed about him taking me out. I feel like we always get odd looks from people because we look so drastically different from each other. 😞
