So this may seem like common sense but you'd be surprised how many people actually don't do this. Never leave your house in your work clothes. Leaving in a work uniform tips off would be robbers that hey he's going to work and this is his work schedule let's break in when he's at work and take all his things. Nope leave your house in regular street clothes and take your work clothes with you in a duffle bag, grocery bag, whatever kind of bag. Change at work. Vary up the times of day you leave for work and I try to change up which way I leave down the street from my house. It's a bit more effort but I've never once been broken into.

Also those tabs for your car yeah never slap those things on whole. People will steal them so after you slap it on take one of those utility blades and put slits into it. If someone tries they'll just get pieces and give up most likely.
