I'm curious why you're so hung up on this. 22 is not a crazy weird number to lose your virginity. In terms of life span it's early adulthood aka you were young but it's on the older side of the range for people losing it. That's not a big deal and it doesn't really matter and it doesn't make you or anyone else weird.
Below is what some sources say according to Google AI.
Statistical Breakdown and Trends - The Tipping Point: Data indicates that over half of Americans have had their first sexual experience by age 18, climbing to roughly 90% by age 22.

People lose it at different ages. When you were ready, you were ready.

18 for me. As long as you did it on your terms, it's fine.

I don't know where you are, when 22 is considered young to lose your virginity.
But I'm quite sure that in the US, 22 is passed the average age for losing your virginity, by about probably 6 years.

Why does it matter?

@MsSwan If 16 is average and AnonymousJSS is on the high side, that means 10 year olds are having sex.
@LeopoldBloom In this modern world it would not surprise me. I was 13.

In the United States and many Western nations, the average age to lose virginity is 17 to 18 years old. Data from health organizations like Planned Parenthood consistently point to 17 as the median age for a person's first sexual experience.

I really find the term lost, inappropriate. I hope it was a gift of love at the time.
