Sun Dried Clothes

Anyone remember when clothesline were the norm.

Didn't need fabric softener

Clothes was soft and fresh smelling after sun drying, being whipped backwards and forwards in the wind. And almost wrinkle free.

If I was to rely on the sun to dry my clothes, I'd have no clean clothes for 9 months of the year 😂

I guess you're in a country like Greenland, Alaska. So you'd be like the people who lived in those countries before they invented washing machines.

And the post isn't about RELYING on the sun to dry your clothes. Before the inventions of the washing machine if you couldn't hang them outside because of bad weather you're hung them inside to dry and most people had some form of fire in their house for heat.

Sunshine is the best

@Charity i must have treated a hundred children injured by wringers on washers. Wringer injuries were devastating.

It wasn't the washer's fault, it was the parent's fault. If you're actually old enough to have lived in the days when they used ringer washers.

And you are focused on ringer washers, most people couldn't afford ringer washers /// there were many people that used wash tubs, those Big Tin Vats and the smaller ones were called foot tubs to soak your feet in after a hard Day's work.

We had one and I never was injured by it and I stuck my hand in the ringer all the time because all the ringer would do was pop apart.

And taught never to stick your hand inside the machine when it was running to pull out anything always unplug it.

@Charity why are you arguing with me? Did I ever say it was the machine's fault. I am only statinng a fact, as did the public health people. Not all of the injuries were from electrical wringers. Some were kids playing with the manual wringers.

@Charity I do hang my clothes inside to dry...

Arguing with you, I'm not arguing with you.

Stating facts also it is the parents fault of children were injured.

In those days most people didn't have ringer washers, and used washtubs.

But enough said won't reply again since you feel I'm arguing.

@Charity just one last comment, i never blame a victim. These children were victims.
Charity · 61-69
@samueltyler2

Where did I blame the victim?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Charity as I read your comment I believe you blamed parental neglect.
Charity · 61-69
@samueltyler2

The parents were not the victims.

@Charity then you never met a parent of a damaged child.
