The people that say "Late 1900s to describe the 90s.....

No, just no. I don't know how this became a thing, but no one says the "1900s" unless they are describing 1900-1910. I don't care if it is technically correct; it's stupid. How did this catch on?

I would imagine the people who say it are the folks who were living during then. My grandmother was a child during the late 1800s. Historically speaking, I was a young adult during the late 1900s. Your personal opinion notwithstanding, both are accurate statements. 🤨
The 1900s refers to all years which are 4 digits and begin with 19...1900 - 1999.

This hae been used in exactly that way for a LONG time.

If you mean the period 1900 - 1909, you'll have to clarify, because most people use 1900s as above.
@Bri89 Not an answer.

And the hill you should be dying on is the 00's...but 70s, etc. us presumed to be the 1970s (which you must have seen), etc.

But the "20s" could now refer to the 2020s, rather than the "roaring 20s", the 1920s.

@SomeMichGuy I didn't think that I had to answer a certain way for it to be appropriate, but okay. And when I think of the 20's, my mind will always go to the 1920s no matter how many cycles of 20s there are. And it's not a hill that I'm dying on so much as something that I've observed.
