Best day I’ve ever been on was probably with my child’s father. We met at a time in my life when I was not even remotely interested in dating, but my friend insisted that I tagalong. As I was headed home I heard a voice make a Star Wars joke, which made me giggle. I slowed my pace so that our paths would cross. I told him that I liked his joke. We spent the rest of the night talking about different religions interpretation of energy and patterns; chaos theory, socrates and Kali. We strolled to the pier to make constellations out of satellites then went to his work to make a magnetic sculpture. Before we knew it the sun was rising. We grabbed strawberry waffles and he walked me home. He didn’t even try to kiss me goodbye. Later I realized that I never even got his name. (Damn tequila lol)

Humorously enough, I made some cryptic missed connections post on craigslist afterwards just thanking him for the refreshing evening and he ended up recognizing it 🤣 so a few months later we did actually find each other again.

My worst states… ehhhh hmm.. trying to think of something without describing traumatic events. I can’t think of one that was that bad aside from us having nothing to talk about. I hate to say it, but my worst dates came down to money. It’s not that I expected them to blow a bunch of money on me. It was something about the date that made me realize the cheap place we went to was an embodiment of their financial plans for themselves meaning Denny’s is what I was signing up for forever.. which.. does not align with the life I am working towards. This made those dates very awkward. Even in chitchat it became apparent that we were on very different goal tracks. Those situations are tough because no matter how you slice it you come off as the superficial b!tch for not wanting to stew in poverty with them.
