I can see the whole thing divided into two main gangs.
The Bandana boys, they say they play just for fun.
And the Visor Lady killers
They own six paddles all color coordinated with the visor and the racket covers, three pairs of court shoes, and track their DUPR rating closer than a diabetic tracks his blood sugar.

This is actually very interesting.
I was looking into it and guess what.
Four of the five best pickleball players wear a visor. The fifth one wears a baseball type hat.
There it is, there's the edge you need.
Oh and they are all white visors.
How come we don't see this on TV?
It's pretty big. No,?

I call that a broken plate moment. A broken plate moment is when you hurt someone without the intention to like when someone accidentally breaks a plate. While the damage is there it was not intentional. It happened and you're still alive. If you don't forgive yourself it's equal to being angry at a child for accidentally breaking something, that's an incredibly mean thing to do. Don't be mean to yourself.

You apologized! That is the absolution.
Thank you for showing us your humanity...both sides of it.

She came up to me and ripped me a new one-- rightly so.
Rightly so? Surely a polite "Excuse me that's my racquet." would have been sufficient.
TheHammer · M
@ninalanyon I know right!
Where I'm from that would have gotten you a racket to the face!
And rightly so

HaHa
That actually made me chuckle. Was not expecting that. Very clever!!
But no.
I don't have a hammer color coordinated with its cover and my neon shoes and my visor.
So I'm afraid that and in the spirit of friendly competition, a racket to their stupid face would have to suffice.

You have a good heart, and your heart was in the right place. I think if you get a chance to speak with that woman to explain your intent it would ease all your anxiety over this.
You were not acting out of Malice.

I’ve done a lot worse by accident. It happens to us all.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@4thdimensiondream awww thanks for sharinng your thoughts with me! It helps. I'll take all the emotional support I can get. I'm hoping to be able to treat her like "normal" I'm have to get over the awkwardness... " do I look at her do I not look at her, do I play with her do I not play with her." But we did jibber jabber some yesterday. I just need to get over myself!!!... Again, thank you!
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Mindful when you see her, I’d mention it again, letting her know you really did feel bad. If she still seems different than I’d just move on and act like it never happened. It’s on her if she really doesn’t accept that.

No, you're way too hard on yourself.

OverTheHill · 61-69, M
Perhaps they had a major over reaction to the situation. You were trying to be helpful. And if they had been playing with you, that seems like an extremely rude response to a fellow player. Just sayin'.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@OverTheHill ❤
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
Anyone can make a mistake. The other person can also choose to deal with it in a polite manner. Seems she chose otherwise, which unfortunate and also isn't on you.
Northwest · M
No need to eat crow, you apologized, but you could show up in a disguise.
