I knew a woman so wonderful. It never cost her anything to be kind.
She filled herself with love. She filled every room she ever entered with love and acceptance. Long before civil rights she stood up for others. She didn't forget or leave anyone out. She didn't care about class, color or disability. She just loved. She made effort and she always picked up the pieces should they fall.
I was so lucky to be a part of her world. But it made the real world so much more ugly when she left. Because I never have known anyone so lovely. I'll never feel that safety again.
