A Selfish Relief

As much as both of their deaths hurt.... part of me is relieved.

Relieved that I will never see them go through Parkinson's, or Dementia, or Alzheimer's, or a car accident.

It's done and it's over.

I don't have to go to any more family events that I really didn't want to go to.

I don't have to worry about them asking for money.

I don't have to worry about them at all.

If my parents were alive I'd be so happy and take all the little things that use to bother me in stride.
I saw both parents suffer and the love of family come together for them.

Of course,I don't know your story, they never asked me for money, but I would gladly pay to talk to them again.

And,no the relationship wasn't all sunshine and roses, but I forgave them a long time ago.
