I heard one of the guns has blanks in it so nobody knows who actually made the shot.
NerdyPotato · M
@FloorGenAdm I heard all but one, or maybe about half, had blanks when these things were still done by larger squads. I don't know if that's still the case though, because nowadays you can research the angle of impact and find out anyway.

@FloorGenAdm historically (in the US anyways) all are loaded and fired simultaneously. That way, no one really knows who fired the fatal shot...

Frankly, this is one of the less barbaric ways we kill people. Lethal injection is only less gruesome from the outside, looking in; the people actually being executed are often put through minutes of extreme pain and suffering while helpless on the table. The only reason it was ever used in the first place is because the image of someone quietly going to sleep and not waking up is a lot less politically objectionable.

I think when they meet their maker, how they got there isn't going to matter too much.

jeancolby · 31-35, F
@laurieluvsit Very true, you know the way I want to go.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
15 years??? That’s a little mind blowing…I thought we’d done away with that around WW2 😳
jeancolby · 31-35, F
I can think of a good way to go.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
To my thinking it`s barbaric.
@Degbeme it absolutely is
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@Degbeme that's pretty subjective compared to other forms of execution...

@NerdyPotato Texas just executed a prisoner who walked into a convienence store and poured lighter fluid over the 76 yr. grandmother working behind the counter. He told her to open the register and give him all the money. She did, no resistance at all. He then set her on fire and walked out the door. It was all caught on. The 76 yr. old woman lived in agony for a few days in the hospital before she died. I really don't care how they kill creatons like him!
NerdyPotato · M
@Nitedoc that's horrible... And I can see how no punishment is bad enough for acts like that.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@NerdyPotato I agree. Most of those prisoners who are on death row aren't there for singing too loud in church. I worked in two different prison hospitals in my early career. I've seen the worst in some people.
Captain · 61-69, M
How are they supposed to aim if they're behind a wall. Is it the law thayt if you dont die, thats a judgement of God and you can go free ?
@Captain I've no idea tbh
NerdyPotato · M
And the cowards doing the shooting hiding behind a wall? That means they know they're doing something wrong.
@NerdyPotato exactly, it's unbelievable 😕😑
