A life was lost yesterday, and I couldn't do anything to change it
He was a young man, well behaved, mostly silent, never asked for help from anyone. He was an orphan and had no family that he could have counted on.
And most of all, he was lonely.
I wish I knew.
Just minutes before his passing, he left public messages on social media.
Like I said many times before, I don't experience the longing for company, but I do experience other forms of abandonment and can relate from that perspective.
I wish I knew sooner.
Someone is trying to convince me to embrace their own way of dealing with death and loss. They usually do this because they themselves lack conviction. So they word their views as something others should believe in.
I am mostly silent. We deal with death differently.
In that case, I don't think of suicide as self-inflicted. It was our social neglect.
