It leaves you open to accusations of orchestrating the assassination of a political rival in order to silence public opposition.
I think it's beyond any doubt now that the Russian mafia (in whatever guise it forms) should definitely be declared as a terrorist organisation running Russia and the rest of the world should then unite behind excommunicating it from EVERYTHING.
