I like to look at it as being purified by fire. I can understand how you wouldn't like the idea of the body of someone you loved burned but I think of the alternative and that disturbs me more.

@SW-User My reaction was more instinctive/intuitive than rational. I'm not against cremation at all, this was just my thoughts/feelings in the moment that I decided to record later on here.

@DDonde I do that too on here

Death itself is disturbing, one minute a person ,the next a"thing" that looks like a person you knew😞

I don’t believe in cremation. I think everyone should save up for a proper burial
DDonde · 31-35, M
@SW-User In this particular case it was a deliberate decision and not a matter of finances.

By that point it’s just a body, it’s no longer the person you loved
DDonde · 31-35, M
@SW-User Yeah they've already died so you have a point. Still it's what struck me at the time.
TurtleEclipseOfTheHeart · 22-25, F
Literally my exact thoughts. It’s a hard thing to process

@DDonde You watch them burn through a window in the furnace. You see the skeleton glowing yellow and red hot and burn hot to rubble. You scrape the bones around if you need to, skulls that haven't broken down properly.
Somebody has to do it.
Somebody has to do it.

@SW-User And how does that pay?

@DDonde Nothing spectacular, but it's decent. I don't do it now.
