I've been reading a lot about what happened when you die because a classmate died. Is it strange that I feel sad even though we weren't friends?

@Fluffybull No where online says if people understand what is happening when they die. I would like to know. It's also sad that his brother will never see him again. I love my brother a lot and wouldn't know what to do.
