i cant really think of something courageous that is depicted in the moment as joyful, i always think of it as something hard that has to be done...

Is it really courage if it's easy, if you are happy while doing whatever it is that requires you to be courageous?
I think that as @justbob says you will be joyful looking back and seeing you did the right thing. So perhaps you can look forward to the expected joy.

I’ve rarely found it so. When I struggle to find courage, what I’m usually attempting to overcome is fear. When successful, my feelings are generally relief rather than joy. 🥺

The joy comes much later when you look back and know you did the right thing. In the moment its mostly just stress.

I think that the reward of courage is knowing in retrospect that you recognized but set aside the knowledge that whatever it is will probably not be to your benefit, but it’s important enough to do anyway.
