Confession of a former EP newbie know it all

There is always one or two know- it- alls that make an appearance in the new members roll call
They rub people the wrong way with their unwavering opinions on every subject, inflexiabilty to consider other people's ideas,(listening doesn't equal adoption of ideas) concern about kindness ,but only as it applies to themselves.
And are mostly blissfully unaware they are doing so.

When I think of my first year on Experience Project, I cringe at my self proclaimed guru of life ways.

I am still not against recieving and giving advice or suggestions when warranted
But ,nobody wants to be told what they should think.

I have strong opinions and beliefs , but I have matured incredibly since those crazy EP days.
I can scroll past things I don't agree with or after giving an opinion feel no need to go into twenty pages defending it where someone disagrees ,nor do I necessarily change my mind, although I have on occasion.

Had a good friend talk to me, straighten me out; in the most kindest of ways, glad I listened
Nobody likes a know- it -all .

I think this is one of the reasons i appreciate this place.....its helped me reflect upon myself.
Ive done EXACTLY the same .

But....like you, have learnt to let go such a tight hold on the reigns and let shit pass me by.

I don't want to ingrain myself to end up one of those people who come here purely to argue ......usually about the same stuff, over and over again.

Its a pitiful existence.
