I hate my gender.....

More often than not I feel out of place in my body and like I was born the wrong gender. I know I should be happy with how God made me but I just feel so uncomfortable in my body. And things would be so much simpler if I was born the opposite gender......

Grass is always greener. MTF and FTM both seem to think the gender opposite what they were assigned at birth is somehow "better". I am MTF, though not real convincing in appearance, but yeah I tend to think "Life would have been better if I were born female" even though I know that isn't truly the case.

What advantages do you think men have? What about disadvantages?

One can transition or at least present as the opposite. The problem there is that regardless of how well they pass and assimilate, once people find out their genetic sex, suddenly they are then seen as their birth gender.

@CestManan That isn't every trans person's experience. In my 70 years I have not met anyone who transistioned doing it because they were sure the other gender was "better".... but because they knew the opposite gender was who they really were..something went awry at birth...it was cellular not naive'. What male would remove his weenie unless he was absolutely sure it was the right thing to do?

@Fernie I guess people transition or live a new role for different reasons.

Since you seem to know about the Tg life, let me get your opinion -
Why is it that the MTFs who pass extremely well are almost always into men but the ones (like myself) who might look okay at best are more into women?
I believe it is because the ones who do everything possible to pass are REALLY wanting to attract men.

This is just my opinion.

@CestManan You're right about the many reasons people do what they do. It's not for me to figure it out. Many of my MTF aquaintances ID as Lesbians after transistioning...this confuses me a little but...not my beeswax

@silkydrawers I used to try and be more feminine wearing makeup and shaving my body. I never felt at home with myself. One day I said I'm done with all that and stopped. Now I feel better about myself and I think people can feel that in me. I know it's not nearly the same as what you're feeling. But we all need to find ourselves. I do think you're beautiful. I have for a long time. I saw many photos of you a few years ago.

Be who you really are, as best you can. Your inner world is all your own. The external world is a mass-consciousness and dense with illogic madness and contradictions. Accept and thrive on what you can be.

You have some real soul searching to do then. In the end, it's your own happiness that's most important. 💞
