I Am Angry

Someone broke into our apartment and stole everything this morning. The tv's and stuff being gone sucks. But they took things we can't replace. My grandmother's jewelry. My digital camera with pictures of my son when he was a baby. Stuff that mattered to us. They even took the food out of our freezer and cabinets. And the thing that bothers me most is that they touched my son's things. Stuffed animals that were sitting on the bed. There was no reason to touch them. I feel so much rage right now. I wish I knew who it was, just so I could kill them.

It's horrible. We had a similar thing happen to our home in Texas 18 years ago when we were in Illinois on a house hunting trip for my new job. It's the irreplaceable things that grind you, as you said. And, you never really get over it either. I mean, take the money, if you must, but the videotapes of my son as a baby??

I'm so sorry. That is horrible. Those things matter to us, and they aren't even worth anything as far as selling them goes

@PraiseBeToYevon: And I hate to tell you that the police pretty much shrugged their shoulders over the whole thing. Of course, nothing was ever found.

Oh, I know the police aren't going to find the stuff. I'm not holding out hope for getting it back

@PraiseBeToYevon: If you have anything stolen with real monetary value, you might try any pawn shops in your area. Even then, you's probably need to have some way to prove that it really belongs to you. Note: the police are supposed to check places like this, but I wouldn't bet money on it.

@LedRobster: they told us to write down serial numbers. We're going to give them all of that. But it can just be sold on Craigslist or something. The tv's and the game system were worth money. But I'm not counting on them ever being found

I'm so sorry! There is just that overwhelming feeling of being violated that makes you see red.

@LedRobster: seeing my mom and sister cry is usually enough to get me to that point anyway. Them touching my son's stuff too is just extra special
