Yes, of course the goal is to agitate. Most of the time, it is the accuser who seems far more "angry"...and I totally agree with the poster who said it is a form of manipulation. Attempted manipulation, anyway.

@Piper, I think they call that "gaslighting". You can never win because they will take anything you say to start an argument or keep one going.

@Peapod..I had to "Google" the term, and it certainly does fit with certain tactics I've experienced or observed.
Peapod · 61-69, F
@Piper, I have had real life experience that taught me the term.

Yes I’ve had to learn to hush block people like that @Peapod
Piper · 61-69, F
@Peapod Unfortunately, I've had a little personal experience with those tactics, also.

@Piper, many, many years of it in my real life. Took a long time to understand it and walk away from it.

@AfroDOS, life is short. The online world is the first place we can learn to shut off when confronting this.

I'm sorry, @Peapod. So glad you were able to walk away, knowing just who you are.

@Piper, I feel I am fortunate to have had enough good people balance it all out. There is something to say about having age and experience, even if it means a wrinkle or two...or three. 🤭
