I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone

It’s not. The worst thing in life is ending up with people who make you feel all alone. - Bobcat Goldthwait

I lost over 30lbs of body fat between the second week of September and the third week of December and the only person that noticed, was a coworker. My family still doesn’t realize my clothes don’t fit anymore.

I only get my hair cut every few months, but I still get the same high and tight I did in the military. So I go from unkempt hobo, to spick and span soldier. It was two nights before my wife realized I got a haircut.

Tis the Year Of The Dove - forgive, forget, love unconditionally

It is possible I’m being overly sensitive

overly sensitive, you kidding?

You lost 30lbs! Congratulations!!! Keep on going strong, care for your health, well being and appearance.

Why they don't notice? Are they too stressed with their live, or have you made them too comfortable not noticing you...? This is not okay, you matter and you should be seen.
Kudos to the co-worker who noticed!

@Boeing Yeah, they are busy. I get it. We do eat dinner together every night. When she mentioned my haircut, I was baffled because it had been two days.

I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt about the weight loss. Maybe it’s because it’s winter and I wear more clothing?

I’m just kinda putting it out there into the universe. I have a family boat, but I ordered myself a jet ski. This year, I’ll just hit the water and be alone, living it up, if I’m feeling alone

@TransientTinkerer communication is key sometimes... do you reciprocate ? or is your wife changing her hair and you are not noticing ? Or you think you are noticing because she is speaking about it... Ah I don't know but families can be hard and I am not the one to give advice on families.

Jet ski sounds cool though:)

@Boeing well, my dad passed in August and since then, I’ve been hyper focused on family. I’ve been going all out to create meaningful moments. It’s probably a matter of perspective.

@TransientTinkerer I think you are doing the right thing ...and it is a matter of perspective as you say in the end. Sometimes some things, especially when we were stuck with certain behaviors in the past, need time to change.

@Boeing And I think we’re headed in that direction
