Can relate. I just shut myself off. Turn off my feelings for them. In doing so, i run the risk of turning my soul cold towards everyone, but that is a risk i am willing to take.
But, one of the best things in the world is when you finally realize that your importance to others doesn’t matter and your importance to yourself is priceless. Yeah, our hearts hurt for a moment; but, that just means we feel, we care, we love. And how sad that other people don’t know how to do that. When someone turns us away, we still have that gift within our heart. We still have the same soul that gives us our compassionate strength. The other loses that from us; however, there are so many others who need it in so many different ways. If we harden our heart, we are no different from the one who tried to shattered it.
