Unwanted. Rape, Incest, possible diseases.
I get it, but don't agree with.
Accidentally. If you're grown enough to do the deed, then you're grown enough to handle the consequences.
The only one that really loses is the fetus.

@Umile But if you force someone to have a child who doesn’t want one, (regardless of the circumstances) the child loses. Abortion can be "handling the consequences".

@ABCDEF7 How can one "vigilant" in cases of rape ? Most assault victims monitor the status like they check for hiv or other std infection, but they’re generally also dealing with extreme shock.

@bijouxbroussard And it's cruel one having being raped has to check for STI's, also a pregnancy, while any mother I know wants to give love. I'm tired of men who somehow think it's on the woman they need to be careful when they were raped

@bijouxbroussard Thanks for answering half of your question by yourself. Being vigilant means taking measures after the unfortunate event of rape that are important for the life & health of the victim, like they do test for HIV, STI, similarly pregnancy test can also be done. Moreover there are morning after pills also available for such cases. The purpose of such measures is not to trouble the victim but to ensure the safety of life & health of the victim.

@SW-User Thank you for understanding the point I was trying to make. 🙏🏽

@ABCDEF7 Rape is more than an "unfortunate event"—it an assault by one person against another, with life-altering consequences, both physical and emotional. To imply that those consequences are the woman’s fault is rather insensitive.

- I completely agree. To imply that those consequences are the woman’s fault..
- I never said so or implied like that. If you misunderstood me, please correct yourself.

@Umile If a 13 year old can be forced to give birth, why can’t she adopt a baby if she wants one?
Umile · 41-45, F
@LeopoldBloom I understand what you're trying to say.

@ABCDEF7 If you don’t understand that forcing a woman or girl to give birth is punishing them by causing them to risk their own lives, (and perhaps as a man you wouldn’t), please, correct yourself. 😳
ABCDEF7 · M
@bijouxbroussard Where did that word "force" come from? I never mentioned that. Why are you trying to change the perspective. Why are you assuming things that I never mentioned?
I am totally in favour of abortion in case if the pregnancy is threat to a woman's life.

@ABCDEF7 Force comes from restricting choice. And that is the entire premise here. A rape victim has had no choice to engage in sex in the first place. If she is further not allowed to terminate a resulting pregnancy, she is being forced to give birth.

@bijouxbroussard In cases of rape, there are few things that should be considered.
1. Victim should consider taking pills as a preventive measure.
2. If that time passes, she should get it aborted as soon as possible within 6 weeks of pregnancy.
3. If that time also passes, as the embryo starts to show signs of it's own life with the heart beat after 6 weeks. It will amount to kill a life after that. So the woman should be give birth and she should be given option to handover baby to some organization to be later given for adoption.
I have share my these view point about abortion in case of rape. But it seems you don't remember.
I don't have any issue with abortions before 6 weeks. But after that it amounts to killing a life without it's consent.

@ABCDEF7 And what also was being discussed was the fact that some men here in positions of power are prohibiting abortions even in cases of rape or incest. This includes the pills. Ergo, forced childbirth.
ABCDEF7 · M
@bijouxbroussard Which men you are talking about?
bijouxbroussard · F
@ABCDEF7 GOP representatives in US government, including the governors of many of our southern states.
ABCDEF7 · M
@bijouxbroussard I am not an American citizen. I don't know them and can't say anything specifically about what I don't know.
bijouxbroussard · F
@ABCDEF7 Yes. And things have changed here. So some of the things you suggest are no longer available as options everywhere, unfortunately.
