What a parlous state of affairs in the US regarding abortion

Emergency rooms refusing to treat pregnant patients in post Roe v Wade US, documents reveal
Complaints that pregnant women were turned away from US emergency rooms spiked in 2022 after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade.
It has raised alarms about the state of emergency pregnancy care in the country, especially in states that have enacted strict abortion laws.
The Supreme Court will weigh in on the enforcement of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, a law that guarantees medical care for pregnancy-related emergencies.

@exchrist Parlous is the word I used because it portrays what I think of the situation.
Parlous - Full of danger and uncertainty.

Why aren't being treated? @Gusman

@Spoiledbrat A lot of US hospitals are run by churches/religious groups who do not allow abortion.
They turn away pregnant women seeking an abortion no matter how distressed they are.
Women are miscarrying, one miscarried in the hospital rest room.
Criminal behaviour. Defying federal law.
@Gusman That's horrible.

@Gusman They could always go to another hospital.
They shouldn't have to though. @DallasCowboysFan

@sladejr Abortion is a medical procedure that ends a pregnancy.

@sladejr there are instances in which it saves a life too.
exchrist · 36-40
@sladejr further life begins st time of birth (legally) therefore your ignoring law. And one might argue until the birth certificate is issued (at time of birth) that life doesnt legally exist.
@sladejr It ebds a potential life. That's why it's only legal early in the pregnancy.
Everyone thinks of it in a different way. That's why it's called pro "choice". @exchrist
exchrist · 36-40
@Spoiledbrat and until the birth certificate is issued thst life doeznt legally exist. Fact.
@exchrist But at some point the fetus becomes a baby. I think everyone agrees on that. That's why an abortion is only legal early on.
exchrist · 36-40
@Spoiledbrat im not making a judgment im stating legal fact. The rest is indivual choice preference and necessity. Get over it! Overpopulation logically suggests g_d probably doesnt much care or notice either
exchrist · 36-40
@Gusman @Spoiledbrat the fetus becomes a baby when it leaves the womb. That sounds right. Per oxford dictionary. "Baby noun a very young child, especially one newly or recently born"
@exchrist Babies are babies in the womb. That's why abortions are illegal at that stage.
@exchrist I'm not going to argue with you. I wasn't even talking to you.
exchrist · 36-40
@Spoiledbrat well i guess u just dont much care for reality. Again per oxford diction. "Fetus - an offspring of a human or other mammal in the stages of prenatal development that follow the embryo stage (in humans taken as beginning eight weeks after conception)"
Im not arguing simply stating literary fact. If you want to argue. Please know what you are saying.
Language matters.
@exchrist I'm talking about what it's in the womb. Are you arguing for abortion during late term ?
