Op-Ed: Roe Is Over, Now We Need to Look to the States and Be Ready to Care for These Babies

By Paula White-Cain - June 28, 2022

Last week’s momentous decision by the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade is an answer to 50 years of fervent prayer from millions of Americans. These prayers were animated by love for those whose cries cannot be heard.

This decision is a victory for constitutionalism and the rule of law, and it is a testimony to the strength of our institutions and the integrity of the Supreme Court.

The national statistics are grim: More than 63 million babies have been aborted since Roe v. Wade in 1973. For nearly 50 years, the Supreme Court’s decision prohibited states from deciding the issue for themselves, causing deep divisions throughout our nation.

But this is not only a political win — it is also a spiritual win and a firm defense of life in all its stages. The pro-life movement, and Christians around the world, recognize the reality that a baby in the womb is a person made in the image and likeness of God, and that the act of abortion is nothing short of the taking of human life.

Now, with the release of the Dobbs opinion, the abortion debate will rightly be returned back to the states. Today, the pro-life movement needs to be prepared to play an even more elevated role in the defense of life and to stop radical policies from the left, including those that would allow abortions up to the moment of birth.

@Namor69 That belly is way too big for it to be undesired unless some medical problem got involved. Just my opinion.

I agree to a point. the only issue is it's not always that easy. my friends Lilly is only 5'5 and weighs about 110lb. she can fight all she wants but may not always win. I was only 9 years old, and he was 45 there nothing I could do about that. My other friend Marry was 25 and is about 350lb and is almost 6ft tall. she went on a date for the first time since her husband left. she had an amazing time...until she drank from her water bottle. she woke up to him still in her. she got pregnant. she drank herself into a hospital. it's not always so black and white.
@meepp it is very clear to me (that is is always black and white). First of all there are many states that will ignore the Supreme Court’s decision in good sense and conscience. People do what they have to do within their conscience.

As for your examples:

Many people that weigh 110lbs are having babies every day of the year.

As far as being a child and sexually abused, one should do as their conscience directs.

And lastly, your friend should control her drinking…

I’m not saying that for medical reasons they should not be permitted but it should be for the sake of the mother’s life only. Child rape that results in pregnancy should be as conscience directs.

The fact is many, many people use abortion as birth control. It needs to stop long before yesterday! MHO.

Also peeps don’t want to be held accountable for their actions.

@carpediem you could be right I'm not completely sure but to my knowledge is all band in the states that agreed to this law
@meepp nope it’s hasn’t been banned. The individual states were given this power to decide for their own state.
@llamaboy Power to keep their clothes on and legs closed… ahahahaha!!

@llamaboy surprised anyone would even want to bang the skanky hoes that are protesting to begin with.... 🤔

In most states there will be little to no change for people wanting an abortion. But surely the whining and complaining will continue. When a lefty doesn't get their way, they want to burn it all down. It's evil and seditious. And people are getting sick of it. They (politicians) think by whipping up descent amongst their base they'll improve their changes in November. After all, everyone knows democrats vote on emotion and NOT sense. But the opposite is going to happen. The pendulum swings hard and far.
@carpediem I agree that the blue states will continue this God hating practice. And no doubt there’s no level they will not stoop to be in power. I don’t get their evil emotions. It all seems twisted to me!
carpediem · 61-69, M
@NoGamesTolerated It's crazy isn't it? There is NEVER a time when a democrat will espouse self reliance. One interesting observation. Most aborted children would have been born into a left leaning family unit whatever that is. No wonder they need to open the borders to increase their voting roles.
@carpediem yeah

@Magenta exactly
@zerofuks2give This above comment will get NO reaction from me. Who are you to judge a living God who created everything you can see or touch, visible and invisible? I’d be careful if I were you with the accusations against God whom holds your next breath. Just something to think about. I’m done. 🙂
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@NoGamesTolerated not an accusation, it’s in your bible in black and white. Remember the great flood? He drowned all those poor children, guess Noah should have built a bigger ark 🤷🏻‍♂️
@zerofuks2give Done…

Although I am glad that SCOTUS sent this issue back to the States, I don’t agree with your argument. To expect people (okay, women) to live like nuns, and have no sexual relationship with another person for God knows how many years is unrealistic, and dismissive of human needs, in my opinion.
@Carissimi As I told someone else, these things are for a good conscience decision. If they do what God would have them do, I have nothing to say. We all have to live with a conscience and convictions …
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@Carissimi less than 1% of all abortions performed are due to rape & incest; and most states allow for exceptions in those cases or if the mothers life is in danger.

aka, such a small demographic is still a poor excuse to attempt to justify universal abortion...
Carissimi · F
I’m not justifying universal abortion. I’m against it, but what does it matter about the percent. I said there are exceptions. That’s it. @wildbill83

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout that’s about right!
MarineBob · 56-60, M
the very same people that is saying that are the ones who begged the SCOTUS to take up the case
@MarineBob hmmm It’s an evil society we live in.
richa · 36-40, M
Agree with you 100 million percent actions have consequences
@richa They indeed do.

the real winners in these cases was the lawyers
