Either in school by other students and even teachers or at home by my family. To this day, I still don't get along with my parents and don't get along with one of my brothers, and to this day, I still hold very dark sentiments and flaming grudges against many people from the past.
QuietExit · F
@MegaManX97: So sorry to hear that your family were some of the people you experienced bullying from.. that's really awful
MegaManX97 · 26-30, M
@QuietExit: It's impacted me even today. My parents don't care about the family considering that my mother told me that if she could speak English and had money, she'd have left my father years ago, and my father just wants to leave because now that we're all over 18, he feels that it's okay to just leave his own family behind, almost as if I was never his son, or me being his son doesn't mean anything to him. Hints to me that my father never really cared and just waited for us to reach 18 so he could leave. My mother and I have always had a very heated relationship, meaning that we're constantly always having heated discussions and such. My brother is a selfish drug addict who constantly asks me for money and smokes his life away. He picks on me because I'm the younger brother, and us younger siblings are easy targets. This family isn't nurturing nor is it caring. Just exists for the sake of existing.

@MegaManX97: That's a damn shame on their part. For this reason, I cannot blame you for feeling the grudges you do. There comes a point in time where you gotta walk away from them - forgive, but don't forget the way they made you feel. It's a daggone mess when parents are the ones doing the bullying. *smh*

I think everyone has been bullied at a certain point in life. As far as stopping it, there really isn't a one answer solution to it. Some people deal with it in different ways.
QuietExit · F
@JarJarBoom: I killed my bully with kindness. Usually people who bully others have pretty deep problems of their own. Not that I feel sorry for them.. just something I kept in mind to help myself get through my high school days
No however my son was...It was difficult to put a stop to it at the time, as he was still at school after he left school it still continued. The bullies were jealous stole his clothes, shoes kicked him punched him completely beat him up, did everything to destroy his self esteem. It took years to get his life back on track which he did with support of his family and a few good friends. I would say looking back its best to remove yourself if possible from the environment where the bullies are and/or gain as much support to help deal with them. It largely depends on the severity of the bullying and how it affects the person. Is it a one off incident or continual? In my sons case it was continual and relentless police were of no help, they made things worse. Today he has a good job, money and is doing well. He also did college & passed his exams.

@cutiepi23: wow, that must have been terrible!! Bullying is awful, and i believe is a projection of the ugliness that the bullies feel inside about themselves. So glad that your son pushed through, and that he is doing so well with life!!
@QuietExit: Thank you it was a rough 4 years of his and the families life. Every time we thought it had stopped something else happened. The worst is over but it did change him as a person. Hes strong so hes survived. Thanks again. Great you highlighted this issue ☺

Two weeks after I made threats, and the school principal did nothing to stop it (even after all my complaints in the previous years, so I was ready to snap), the bullying stopped. Most of my bullies at that time came around, and I've come to realize they're not just cold-hearted souls. We all graduated on a positive note.

As for college, my second mentor in practicum had so many insecurities - I could just see them through her. Combine that with my mom and a former roommate at home. Then the classmates I had that year with their issues... Got damn. It was too much, so I had to start planning my own business since bullying is permitted in the workplace.

Yes as a young kid, I stopped it with swift blinding violence.

@kingfish2: Yes haha

I don't think I've had a problem with bullying since junior high. I ignored the guy. I fought back at first, but it obviously amused him. When I stopped reacting, he bothered someone else instead.
coolboy86 · 36-40, M
quite a bit throughout school and especially high school I didn't stop it I just dealt with it it wasn't a good time
JP1119 · 36-40, M
Yeah, I think it stopped because I just stopped going to the gym after school where they would hang out.
ThinkQuick · 31-35, F
Moments like my bottle's filled up, i stand for myself. Cos they never see that coming. And the bullying stops. How are you coping?
SW-User
All my life. Now it's called "office politics".
moment · 22-25, M
Yes a lot but never took any action.

@KindChanny: awww bullies suck
DiamondPrincess89 · 31-35, F
1) I took a beating (or verbal abuse) by some.
2) I threatened to hurt some, because I've reached my limit/boiling point.
3) Nowadays, I just don't bother with anyone who leaves a negative aura behind.
4) Bullies still exist, even in the adult world. I guess it was a lie when they said, "Turn the other cheek."

Only once, on another website. I told the site's admin guy this pervert was stalking and harassing me (which was the truth) and the offending guy got booted off the site. He later came back with another account, but he never had the decency to apologise to me for his previous behaviour or thank me for reporting him. He didn't even explain why he picked on me personally, so I could only assume it was my avatar that had that effect on him.
Sicarium · 46-50, M
When I was 11 or 12. I changed schools halfway through the year. These three douches liked to follow me home and harass me. Went on for about a month. It stopped when I kicked the shit out of all three of them. I got suspended for three days, but was still back to class before they were. That was the end of any and all bullying.
QuietExit · F
@Sicarium: daaaayum lol, sometimes (all the time, just not always physically) you have to fight for yourself. A person can only take so much shit before they snap
Sicarium · 46-50, M
@QuietExit: People like to pretend that bullies are somehow subhuman, evil little bastards running around fucking with people. In reality, they do it for a reason. They just need to be taught that their reason isn't good enough to cover the beating they have coming to them. After that, they're usually fine. I actually ended up as friends with two of three eventually.
QuietExit · F
@Sicarium: exactly! & same here.. One of my high school bullies used to pick on me about my hair all the time... among a bunch of other things.. we ended up friends, and now she comes to me when she wants a hair cut 😂

First two years of high school were hell, then my uncle showed me how to box. Next year, cuda68 1, bully 0,, broken nose, cracked orbital, cracked jaw.
Juniorsailor · 26-30, M
I stopped it by one time counting to 10 (count out loud so they can hear it) and at 4 i took a swing at his face
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
No, I'm too insane to be bullied. Who is bullying you? You have to talk to them and make them confused and stupid. Stare them out while you talk nonsense to them and don't look away from them. Wait till they lose eye contact with you and then smile at them. They are weak, they talk shit because they can do nothing else.
QuietExit · F
@lucetta12: 😂I like your approach lol, & no one these days, but high school sure sucked
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
@QuietExit: that wasn't even the reason I never got bullied, I just look like a hot crazy woman 👌🏻
testbutton · 51-55, M
