.....children

Why is it that Everytime I say out loud I don't want kids. I get the look of disgust or the pity look. Like I'm a broken person for not wanting them..is it me or does this happen to anyone else?

As a lifelong single person by choice, people always ask if I was even close to marriage. I knew by 30 I never wanted kids so I exercised good birth control and self control. I also knew about then that I didn't like the concept of marriage either. When you do this, you go against societal expectations. Same with women who don't have kids. Remember a number of people are sheeple. They go along with society without having a strong sense of thinking things through or being the one who says fu** it, I don't want this stuff. I get a perverse pleasure now in married couples who are miserable. Studies indicate that up to 25% of marrieds regret their decision to have kids. The experience project group " I live in a sexless marriage" had 40,000 members. That should tell you something also.

@ddt333: I just have different plans for myself. I want to see more of the world and kids would get in the way of that. But I would like to be married one day.

@WanderLustChick: Even still, being married does not have to equal having kids.
