What makes a person truly evil? Are they born that way or did their environment make them that way?

That's a good question; I've always wondered about it. I tend to think even those we categorize as "evil" are severely mentally and emotionally ill. And I tend to think they are so as a result of their upbringing and experiences.

@bijouxbroussard: Thank you . That's true . Sometimes I wonder whether we tag a person as evil and make him dip more into evilness . It would be better if we can give them a chance to come out of evil state to the goodness state . We may not succeed 100 % and failures are bound to be there but its worth a try .
