I feel like I had decent control on everything going on in my life but now it's all collapsing.
What the hell is going on and why can't I do anything about it?

I know the feeling. Two weeks ago we decided I am not meant to get a teaching license. I have a BSE-major of Special Ed. I don't think I'd be happy as an aide-jealous. Now playing "What Do I Want To Be When I Grow Up?" My path changed a few times, but I truly felt this was my career.

Yep. Took me 10yrs off and on @ two schools w/ two majors to earn my BSE. Had a few bad experiences, kinda lost myself and some needed skills such as organization and some patience. Your upheaval sounds different but any kind sucks till we end up in an ever better situation.
