Thinking we have tight control of life is dangerous. There's so much we're not able to be in control of, that we only ever control the minority of things. When things do go wrong, and that illusion is shattered, it can be very upsetting and confusing. Perhaps you now have options to control some of what has gone wrong, but if you don't, you don't.
