Because I anticipate this announcement will not go over well, I've been procrastinating. Any suggestions on how to delicately break the news?

Honestly is there ever a right moment to say what needs to be said? Trying to spare those it might hurt or feel uneasy when you speak those words is admirable. But for the sake of your sanity it's probably better just say whatever is on your mind.
