What remains?
When you are dead, when your time ends, when you are gone... just memories, stuff for the flee market or ebay?

Sure. There are worse things then being a memory or "stuff"...or creating ripples that have effected people around you in some way.
Here's the thing. I don't want to be cared about or missed or remembered because I'm dead. But I'm good being remembered if it makes someone happy and reminds them to focus on living and being brilliant . I hope when I die, everyone will be good with it, made their peace with it and won't be too sad. Just as I'll have to content myself with what I've made of my life .
