Does humility shape your understanding of what you know or don't know?

So you're saying humility is a place we land after gaining understanding right? My question is basically saying the same thing in a different way. The more you know the more humility should tell you that maybe you don't know as much as you think you do... That's basically what my question meant in a nutshell. But it was probably not worded as well as it could have been...
