Why do people wallow in self pity and saddness?

Wouldn't it be easier to ball your tears out, set your heart and mind and then move forward?

Some would like to, but can't. They may have a chemical imbalance.

yes it would be easier... but some people sadly have been wallowing in the mud for so long that that is all they know.

@Justpeaceandlove: thank you too... me too. I gotta head home and get some rest for another day in paradise. Peace-out
Depressed and sad people are so distraught that they can't see past the moment or past their pain. It takes time and emotional support to get to a better frame of mind.
@Smtwn829: Interesting. Maybe it helps to empower oneself with some challenges along the way.

Keep on truckin
People are as sad for however long they are sad. So no, it's not always a question of "bawling ones tears out...and moving forward". Sometimes one's heart and mind doesn't set so easily.

I understand that there are things that will stay with a person for the rest of their life. but some of the best people I have met use it as a motivation and move forward. What bothers me are the ones that hide away to wallow in grief.

@Smtwn829: I never understood why some do that but I accept it.
