Do teachers actually used to beat students at school?

My mom told me they do and that I'm super lucky and so on.
and she told me that the schools are a lot stricter than now.

I have had older people tell me what the old education system was like, and they did used to beat them. It is called corporal punishment and could involve things such as 'the belt' (hitting kids with a belt...I think on the wrist or hands).

Usually on your backside, pants down.

@SweetMae: That's sad to hear :( I have only heard of the wrists and hands method.

@SweetMae: isn't that considered abuse these days?

@Kawaii: I should hope so!

@Kawaii: It is considered abuse now :) In the UK it was banned a looooong time ago.
