So today I had some very memorable socializing. What do you feel about it?
So unlike many of my previous socializing which mostly happened with women, today most of my memorable socializing actually happened with foreign men. So yeah in Starbucks of Indiranagar area of our city Bangalore in India, i initiated a conversation with a white man from the US. Damn we talked a lot for real. He shared about his travel stories. He said he loved Bangalore a lot and he is comparing Bangalore with Chennai saying he found Bangalore more westernized and progressive than Chennai. But he also said he didn't meet many Americans in Bangalore and mostly met European expats especially from Germany. By the way when I shared about my MBA being done, he asked my age and I said I am 25 and asked his and he said he is 32 which surprised me as he looked a lot younger. I said him that he looks a lot younger than 32 and he laughed and said oh thank you for the compliment. He asked my name and found it unique and that he never met any Indian with my name and I explained how rare it is and my Bengali roots. He is from Ohio from the city Colombus. He also shared something personal tho that he went to Thailand and met an Indian woman there 2 years ago and they kind of fell in love too but in the end things didn't work and i sympathized with him saying what happened is sad. We had multiple laughs and fist bumps. One of the best interaction of the day.
Then in 1MG Lido mall of Trinity Circle, I had a very unexpected moment. Yeah I literally talked with a black man from the West Indies. Yeah this was my first time talking to a person from the Caribbean. He didn't fully say which country exactly he is from the West Indies but I felt so excited that I told him it's my first time talking to someone from the Caribbean region and we gave each other a fist bump. And he isn't just some expat or tourist but he came to Bangalore for a cricket match. Yeah west Indies vs India match is going on and he is a cricketer. I don't really follow or watch cricket tho actually but yeah we had a good conversation. He had a very unique name. What's crazy is his height. I am around 176-178 cm and he is at least 4-5 inches taller than me. It definitely felt surreal to talk to him in a mall.
Then in UB City mall, I initiated conversation with another black man from France. Just like the American interaction, this one was very long too with him talking a lot. He is sharing his travel plans to Other Indian places like Madurai, Chennai, Goa etc. He also said he became very much interested in India after reading some book by author Krishnamoorthy. Btw yeah while we were talking in English, he couldn't understand some of my words and apologized laughing saying he isn't very good in English so might not understand some words and he mainly knows French and Spanish which I don't understand haha. He said that he works in a hotel in his home city Paris but nowadays he is traveling around more whereas He asked me what do I do and i shared about my MBA being done. He was also noticeably taller than me haha. So overall a great interaction. With women tho I mostly had more brief interaction like a brief passing interaction with a pair of Dutch women in 1MG Lido mall and then an expat woman from Spain in UB City mall. What's funny is when I asked which country she is from, she couldn't understand and kept saying pardon and when I explained i meant country she said "Oh you mean country?" And then she said she is from Spain. Her cab arrived so the interaction was brief. But overall an amazing social day despite the day being more gloomy and drizzling in Bangalore.
