Is this an issue with my new AC?

I've had it a month now and it's been working great. But the last week or so, sometimes it takes longer than five minutes to kick in when setting it at LOW COOL.

Most of the time it kicks right in you can hear it. Other times it takes one minute to kick in. But rn, and a few other times, it's taking longer than five minutes to kick in. So, it's on LOW COOL rn but coming out as fan. After ten minutes it's still not coming out cool.
I just bought this in July... Any ideas or can that happen?

make certain it has a bit of downward tilt to drain properly. ice on the coils will slow it down

A lot of them come with a warranty. If you didn't buy it online, contact the place you bought it from and you might get it looked at for free. If you bought it online, google dealers for that brand in your area and they might be able to tell you what you can do

Is it running continuously? If so it may be ice jammed. Look for leaks in the area you wan to cool. Also it takes longer for a hot air compressor to start cooling when the wether has been very hot.

Is this a portable unit that you can roll around and vent out a window or a window unit ?

Portable - Sometimes these units can't have issues with draining / evaporation. It can cause such a problem as the machine will know that it can take any more water from the air and will run itself on fan node. Though most units would have a light to let you know. The units usually will have an internal tank that can be manually drained.

Window - If it's been a couple of seasons it may need to have the aluminum grating in the back to get an acid wash. The chemical used to do this is dangerous and is typically only available to professionals though there may be less effective consumer versions of it.

Hope this helps. But honestly, maybe type the make and model along with the problem into an AI?
If you still have the user's guide, there should be a trouble shooting section.

@HikingMan It's a window unit yes. I will try the trouble shooting section in user guide, good idea. I went right back to sleep after posting this lol. I wish I were an early bird haha. Have a nice one as well 🌻

@Baybreeze You mighthave a brown out or black out when you weren't home. Try unplugging the machine, waiting 10 min, replugging it in, then doing a test and reset on the plug.

@Baybreeze A brown out is when the electricity coming into a dwelling weakens down but doesn't stop coming in. It results in things like light bulbs just dimming down but not going out. It screws up appliances and especially window AC units.
