So I actually unexpectedly bumped into some known friends yesterday. Do you feel it was good?
So yesterday I again went out to Central areas of our city Bangalore in India but didn't make a post as the outing was relatively dry and there weren't really many people to talk to on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and most interactions were brief or micro-interactions like me greeting a group of Korean women in Araku Cafe of Indiranagar who literally laughed and said Hi when I said them I was just saying Hi to new people and also later in Lavelle Road greeting a cute Japanese woman and said her Hi and that I was just trying to meet new people and she gave a beautiful laugh but it was only limited to which country she is from as she was waiting for her cab so I wished her a great day and later in Church Street, I confidently greeted a group of 4 beautiful Western foreign women and they acknowledged me in a friendly way but couldn't talk more as there were 4 of them and all walking so confidently wished them a good day. But this post will be about bumping into these 2 friends Mithun and Shashank from my school days right in Church Street. So both of them were in my school but were a grade below me so yeah when I was in 10th grade, they were in 9th grade. But we were friends and they were like oxygen to me in school as I was relentlessly bullied by my male classmates especially Arjun who was the main bully who bullied and humiliated me daily. So yeah Mithun and Shashank do all these banters with me these days. So we last time bumped into each other 3 months ago at evening while I was walking around in our area Munnekolala. They were fully joking with me just like how they did in school.
They are actually local Kannadiga people from different parts of the Karnataka state but living in Bangalore since childhood (Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka) whereas I am Bengali from Siliguri in West Bengal living in Bangalore since 2008. But yeah one thing which makes me feel some comfort is that Shashank is unemployed too. I often posted here that I am actively job searching for over a year and done with my MBA 9 months ago. Similarly 3 months ago, Shashank too said he is unemployed for the past 1.5 years too. He completed his engineering undergrads roughly 3 years ago and he did work somewhere for a while but he had to quit and since then he is searching and unable to find a job. Even his friend Mithun and others aren't able to help him too by using referrals. Even yesterday when we met in Church Street too, Shashank said that he still didn't get a job either and I also said him that I am also unable to get a job and turned it into a shared pain. He is also about 24-25 and I am 25 so yeah we are both in the same boat now even if I did an MBA and he didn't but we are both actively trying to get a job and both of us are frustrated. So yeah it made me feel better that I am not the only one struggling to find a job and there are plenty of men in my situation. Btw 3 months ago both had full beards and I was clean shaven but yesterday even I had a heavy stubble and growing a beard so yeah I was no longer the clean shaved dude now haha and we were like 3 bros or buddies with beard now hehe.
Mithun tho as usual joked with me first saying "Lets go for a drink". Church Street is full of pubs and bars so I thought he meant alcohol so I said him "No bro I don't drink" and then he said "Aye I meant lets drink some coffee ra"(Aye and ra are just casual Indian terms used among friends). Then we laughed. They were also simply chilling around in Church Street as just like me Shashank too feels bored and frustrated in home while unemployed. I also shared them that I am also socializing in these outings and just greeted a group of 4 women there and they teased me and even asked who haha. But yeah compared to our previous interaction 3 months ago, this was shorter as they came in their motorcycles whereas I had to take the metro from the MG Road metro station so had to tell each other goodbye. I wish they also traveled by metro then we could have talked a lot more in metro. It was super refreshing to bump into familiar peers after such a dry day.
