Another vent post about 2 weeks of general silence in my job search.
So yeah as you all know I posted before that I have been in this ongoing job search phase. I am 25, done with my MBA fully 9 months ago and job searching for over a year as a whole. Yes it's been over a year already even though I live in the city Bangalore in India which is the IT hub. I am actively trying, applying almost daily but the last interview was literally over 2 weeks ago. I posted about that how i was fully satisfied after that interview which was a Market Research Analyst role but then silence. But yeah I am definitely not selected as I finally opened the job portal Naukri this week where I applied for that job and saw the status changed to "Not Shortlisted" but yeah they never sent any email and never replied to my professional follow-up about it. I am applying for entry level Business Analyst, Market Research, general Marketing, internships, Operations etc but nothing so far yet. These 2 weeks have been fully silent. Unlike before when I would at least get some initial screening calls and interviews scheduled, these 2 weeks were fully silent, almost no calls, no interviews scheduled.
On top of that I talked with my friend Joy too almost a month ago. He was my classmate in school in 11th and 12th grade and is now working for 3-4 years as he started working right after his undergrads. So he decided to help me. I shared him my resume and he also shared my resume to his business partners, other networks and friends too so someone can refer me. At first he was giving some updates and even suggested me to update my resume through Claude AI and even got a referral in Genpact but Genpact has been silent and not even an interview got scheduled yet. After that even he didn't update about more referral leads. I talked to Joy on phone and he is trying and told many of his networks and friends about it and they are trying too but he also said that a few friends said that it's harder for freshers/entry level to get into their company like that but they will still try. So far tho no positive news yet.
Even my dad's ex-colleague Balu who has many corporate connections also shared my resume to many companies months ago but nothing yet. I was referred only in this one company Conduent but got ghosted after the screening rounds itself and no interviews. Later Balu said they had a hiring freeze. Now nothing no updates or any referral leads from him either. It's frustrating how nothing is working. The silence feels even more frustrating. Especially at early morning, I don't get a deep sleep as I worry about my future at the time that still no job yet. Even 2026 is done more than half as it's August. Also as I haven't worked for such a gap, I am worried how will I adapt or work in a workplace with such an experience gap and also worried whether the career gap will affect me in the upcoming interviews as it's been 9 months already since my MBA got over and I haven't been working or anything simply because it's been so hard to get a job for me.
