Since my old phone died
I've not put any social media apps back on the new one, including this one.
I had 2 weeks without any social media and I can honestly say, I was far better for the lack of it.
Now, all social media sits on my tablet, where I'm only looking at it a few times a day, if even.
I have given up almost all political crap going on. I have a very small window that i use to learn about things going on, and that is only if I want to. I don't feel i have missed anything. The american politics have become serial soap operas where very little actually changes, it's just the same plot dramas on repeat. No one has been brought to justice in the Epstein files. McConnell is still playing Bernie as they shoved a pole up his ass to bring him into congress. Trump is still scamming his supporters for money. RFK is ruining actual healthcare so all his buddies can get rich on supplements and patches. ICE is still killing people. The right still thinks ANTIFA is a real organization. Christian Nationalists are still ruining America and the right refuses to see they are the fascists.
I figure this paragraph will be able to be used next year because nothing is going to change.
So, i decided to choose peace.
I am doing what I want to make my life as calm, happy and magical as I can. Having peace, joy and calm is a revolutionary action in a world that wants us constantly overwhelmed, over emotional and forever on guard.
I have decided that people who are expressing hate have simply lost their way to being human. They have found it easier to be horrible because to care would mean having to admit their roles in the tragic harm they have allowed. I'm not excusing them, nor forgiving them. I am walking away hoping they find their way back to being humans again instead of the monsters the world has made them.
I have been investing in my life. Working in making my home a place I want to exist in. Writing stories that make me happy and feel creative. Cooking amazing meals to keep me healthy. Enjoying the simple pleasures of my life and knowing that I am the one who made it exactly what it is today.
It has been a much better way for me to live.
