Another rant post here about the ghosting I am facing after an interview.
So yeah I have been mentioning about being done with my MBA and it's been 8-9 months already since I am done but the job search has been on going for a bit over a year as a whole already. I am 25 and trying so hard but just unable to get one even though I live in Bangalore which is the IT hub of India. As my specialization was in Business Analytics, I have been mostly searching entry level Analyst roles but nowadays I have broadened it to Marketing, Market Research, Operations, Data Annotation and Project Management too but yeah what happens is very annoying. Like 2 weeks ago, I got screening calls from 2 companies and they seemed promising and aligned with my MBA and skills as well but at the end she said she will let me know about interview after talking to the hiring manager but nothing after that. Complete ghosting after that. No calls or email. I even asked a friend of mine Joy to help me out and he sent my resume to his business partners and several friends to see if someone can refer me but so far nothing happened yet. But last week Thursday, I did have a face to face interview finally for a Market Research Analyst role in Indiranagar area of our city.
So I was fully well prepared for it. The pay wasn't that much but it was okay as I am just starting. They actually needed interns or employees too as I heard them discussing about needed more interns and employees so I thought maybe I will get one as the role asked for an MBA in my specialization, needed market research skills, Power BI and Excel which I have. Yes during the interview I was fully answering everything like about my previous internship, my skills, my MBA and also the research paper I made during MBA and what all market research methodologies I used and everything and the technical round one seemed satisfied. Even during the HR interview, the HR was rather chill and friendly rather than being too strict. I answered everything confidently.
Unlike plenty of my previous interviews where I felt maybe I messed up somewhere, in this one I was fully satisfied. The HR even said I will get an update call about it probably even the next day(that is Friday) or by next week. But today it's Wednesday and nothing. It's been 3 business days(if we exclude weekend) in between and still no calls or emails. I am just feeling so frustrated that even they are doing the same and making me doubt myself now. I mean what the hell more do they want. Today I am definitely gonna send them a professional follow-up email but I am just feeling angry and frustrated at the moment
